The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has detailed updated compliance procedures addressing delayed wages under the country's Wage Protection System (WPS).

The framework introduces a graduated enforcement model that begins with electronic monitoring and automated alerts prior to escalating to formal administrative measures against non-compliant entities.

MoHRE officials stated that the updated decision introduces no new substantive obligations for companies, serving instead to formalize governance structures and facilitate early dispute resolution between employers and workers.

According to the ministry, the automated WPS platform currently oversees and processes more than AED 37 billion ($10.1 billion) in monthly salary transactions across the UAE private sector.
