A detailed study published by the Middle East Institute examines the structural interdependence connecting Gulf maritime hubs, Chinese trade networks, and global digital logistics systems.
According to the analysis, container terminals such as Dubai's Jebel Ali port have become increasingly intertwined with Chinese state-owned enterprises, including COSCO Shipping Ports.
The study notes that beyond physical port facilities, global supply corridors depend heavily on digital infrastructure, including terminal operating software, satellite systems, and cloud computing networks. It adds that recent Middle East security disruptions have revealed vulnerabilities across these connected platforms.
Consequently, the analysis highlights that regional governments and Asian partners are directing capital toward AI-driven logistics and resilient transit corridors to protect supply chain integrity.
