Sharjah and Chinese Consulate Discuss Bilateral Cooperation Across Technology and Manufacturing Sectors

Sharjah Department of Government Relations Chairman Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi met with Chinese Consul General Qu Boqian to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation. The meeting covered artificial intelligence, data centres, automotive manufacturing, healthcare, and research and development.

Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations and the Higher Committee for Economic Integration in Sharjah, held talks with Qu Boqian, Consul General of China in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Gulf Today reported.

The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation across several priority sectors, including artificial intelligence, data centres, automotive manufacturing, healthcare, and research and development.

The delegations explored combining China's capabilities in digital infrastructure and automation with Sharjah's industrial base. According to the reported figures, industrial manufacturing accounts for approximately 17% of Sharjah's gross domestic product.

Additionally, both sides reviewed cultural initiatives during the meeting, including a proposal to establish a Chinese cultural institute in the emirate of Sharjah.
