A delegation of 32 students and young professionals from Ras Al Khaimah returned to the UAE on October 29, 2026, following the completion of intensive language and cultural immersion programs in Shanghai and Guangzhou. The educational initiative supports the emirate's strategy to expand economic, commercial, and technological collaboration with Chinese enterprises.

Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, received the participants at his palace in Saqr bin Mohammed City. The Ruler noted that Mandarin proficiency and cultural understanding are essential components for fostering future business partnerships, adding that human capital is central to the emirate's development vision.

Sponsored by the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research, the initiative comprised two distinct groups. The first group of 22 school students attended East China Normal University in Shanghai for summer language instruction and cultural studies. The second cohort consisted of 10 government and private-sector employees who undertook a six-week course at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, covering professional communication, protocol, and hospitality.

According to the report, the educational program coincided with recent high-level business delegations from Ras Al Khaimah to southern China, which aimed to attract investments in high-tech manufacturing and logistics. The training was structured to improve bilateral communication across corporate, industrial, and diplomatic sectors as the emirate establishes friendship agreements with Chinese provinces.
