University of Sharjah Explores Technology Partnerships with Huawei and Chinese Institutions

A University of Sharjah delegation led by Chancellor Esameldin Agamy completed a four-day mission to China to develop ties in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and scientific research. The delegation visited Huawei's Shanghai R&D centre, attended the Huawei Connect 2026 conference, and met with Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

A delegation from the University of Sharjah completed a four-day official mission to China focused on bilateral partnerships in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and scientific research, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Chancellor Esameldin Agamy led the UAE delegation, which visited Huawei's Shanghai research and development centre to examine high-performance computing and cloud infrastructure.

The Emirati delegates also attended the Huawei Connect 2026 conference in Shanghai, an event that convened approximately 25,000 global technology leaders and partners.

In addition, bilateral discussions were held with Shanghai Jiao Tong University regarding smart campus operations and data-driven learning platforms. WAM noted that the initiative aligns with UAE leadership priorities to build long-term technology and research linkages with Chinese technology firms.
