Economic cooperation between China and Dubai has entered an advanced stage focused on industrial co-construction and innovation, according to CCPIT Zhejiang. Strategic sectors including artificial intelligence, digital economy, and advanced manufacturing are being aligned with Dubai's economic agenda to serve as an operational gateway.
Dubai Customs announced that cashless payment transactions reached 99.3% in the first half of 2026. The department handled 23 million customs transactions with a 99.6% digital channel adoption rate.
China's Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration announced plans to cut the value-added tax export rebate for new energy vehicles from 13 percent to 9 percent, taking effect April 1, 2027. In addition, export rebates on battery products will be fully eliminated starting January 1, 2027. Existing consumption tax refund and exemption mechanisms will remain unaffected.
UAE Presidential Special Envoy Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing to review the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The officials discussed expanding cooperation across priority economic and industrial sectors, including bilateral trade and investment initiatives. The meeting was attended by UAE Ambassador to China Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi and senior officials.
