UAE businesses generating annual revenues of Dh50 million or more are required to appoint an accredited e-invoicing service provider by October 30, 2026, according to a report by Gulf News citing the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
The FTA stated that mandatory electronic invoicing will officially take effect for this large enterprise tier starting January 1, 2027. Failure to meet the compliance deadline will incur an administrative penalty of Dh5,000 for each month, or part of a month, of delay.
For businesses earning below the Dh50 million annual revenue threshold, the deadline to appoint an accredited provider is March 31, 2027. Mandatory electronic invoicing implementation for this second tier is scheduled to commence on July 1, 2027.
