A compliance advisory published on October 10, 2026, by Legarithm outlines statutory deadlines and penalties associated with the UAE's electronic invoicing framework. Under the regulations, businesses generating annual revenue of at least AED 50 million are required to formally appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) by October 30, 2026, prior to mandatory implementation on January 1, 2027.
Failure to appoint an ASP or implement the system within the mandated timeline carries a monthly fine of AED 5,000. In addition, businesses face penalties of AED 100 per unissued electronic invoice, capped at AED 5,000 per month, as well as a penalty of AED 1,000 per day for failing to report technical outages to tax authorities.
For companies with annual revenue below AED 50 million, the deadline to appoint an ASP is March 31, 2027. Mandatory adoption for this tier is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2027.
