The UAE Federal Tax Authority has announced implementation milestones and fine schedules for its upcoming mandatory electronic invoicing framework, according to Global VAT Compliance.

Under the framework, large enterprises with annual revenues of AED 50 million or more must formally appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026. This group of businesses will be required to achieve full system integration and begin mandatory e-invoice issuance starting 1 January 2027.

Businesses reporting annual revenues below AED 50 million have been assigned a deadline of 31 March 2027 to appoint an accredited provider. Full system go-live and e-invoicing compliance for these smaller entities will become compulsory on 1 July 2027.

The authority also confirmed penalty measures for delayed compliance. Entities that fail to meet the mandated timelines face administrative fines of AED 5,000 for each month or fraction of a month of delay.
