Institutional Investors Expect US and China to Share AI Leadership by 2031

A survey of 100 institutional investors managing $513 billion found that 56% expect the US and China to jointly lead global AI within five years. Conducted by Pureprofile for Robocap across eight markets including the UAE and China, the report notes closing gaps in patents, research graduates, and applied robotics. All surveyed investors also projected that the UAE and Saudi Arabia will make significant progress toward becoming global AI hubs.

Iran Says Three Oil Tankers Struck in Hormuz Were Linked to UAE

An Iranian authority stated that three oil tankers recently struck in the Strait of Hormuz were owned or chartered by the United Arab Emirates. The three Liberian-flagged vessels were accused by Tehran of non-compliance with navigation rules over multiple transits. Two of the tankers are managed by UAE-based ADNOC Logistics & Services, and one by Anglo-Eastern Tanker Management.

Flydubai Suspends Israel Flights Following In-Flight Attack on Dubai-Tel Aviv Service

Flydubai has temporarily suspended flights to and from Israel after a co-pilot attacked the flight captain aboard flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, forcing an emergency diversion to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Passengers and a reserve crew overpowered the assailant, allowing the plane carrying over 170 people to land safely. The UAE has launched an official investigation into the incident while authorities urged the public to avoid speculation.

UAE Ministry Explains How International Maritime Shipping Regulations Are Established

The UN agency sets worldwide benchmarks for vessel safety, maritime security, and pollution prevention across commercial fleets. The ministry clarified that the organization does not operate as a maritime police force or control individual transit routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.
