UAE Suspends All Iranian Airline Flights Following US Aviation Sanctions

The United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority has suspended all flights operated by Iranian airlines to and from the UAE effective September 24, 2026, until further notice. The measure follows sweeping US secondary sanctions prohibiting foreign airports from providing landing, refueling, or ticketing services to Iranian carriers. The suspension immediately halts direct air connections between Iranian cities and major UAE hubs, including Dubai.

Major Airlines Extend Flight Suspensions Across the Middle East and UAE

Iran issued a warning that regional air travel could face reciprocal disruptions after several neighboring countries suspended Iranian commercial flights under US sanctions. An adviser to the Iranian Supreme Leader stated that regional flight must be free for all or no one. Gulf airlines and regional carriers are monitoring potential restrictions on Iranian airspace and overflight rights.
