UAE-based Gargash Prime has signed a memorandum of understanding with Jingdong Property, the infrastructure and asset management division of Chinese e-commerce group JD.com, to form a joint venture. Under the agreement, the partners plan to invest in and develop approximately 250,000 square metres (2.5 million square feet) of modern logistics facilities in Dubai.
The strategic agreement was signed in Shenzhen on the sidelines of the Dubai Business Forum – China, an event hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The planned project is designed to operate as a regional fulfillment and distribution center supporting supply chain operations across the UAE and the broader Middle East.
According to the announcement, the initiative aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to strengthen Dubai's position as a global logistics hub. The joint venture combines JD.com's technology and asset management capacity with Gargash Prime's regional presence.
JD.com's infrastructure platform manages more than 300 logistics assets globally, encompassing an aggregate construction area exceeding 28 million square metres and an asset management scale of over $16 billion.
