Regional geopolitical shifts are driving Dubai's economic focus toward high-value technology and digital sectors, with Chinese enterprises playing an increasingly significant role, according to Caixin Global.
Registration data shows that more than 6,400 Chinese companies were registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce by mid-2026. Over the same period, bilateral non-oil trade between Dubai and China reached approximately $99 billion as commercial engagement moves toward deeper industrial and technological integration.
According to Dubai Chambers leadership, Chinese businesses are increasingly leveraging the emirate's financial and trade infrastructure as an operational base to expand into wider Middle East, North Africa, and European markets. Chinese investments increasingly span cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence, autonomous transport, and advanced manufacturing.
The report also noted disruptions to local infrastructure, stating that Dubai International Airport experienced prolonged travel impacts and an Amazon data center faced brief banking network outages following regional drone and missile incidents earlier in 2026.
