Chinese autonomous driving enterprise Baidu has officially inaugurated a 2,000-square-metre Apollo Go operations and control centre in Dubai, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM). The facility is designated to support the rollout of commercial robotaxi fleets and provide digital fleet management across the emirate.
The development directly supports the UAE's broader smart mobility strategy and Dubai's policy target to make 25 percent of all transportation driverless by 2030. Dubai's robotaxi network has accumulated over 4 million operating kilometres across both commercial operations and trial runs.
In parallel, authorities in Abu Dhabi are expanding designated testing hubs and developing regulatory frameworks to facilitate and license further commercial autonomous vehicle trials.
