The Abu Dhabi Residents Office has published the mandatory documentation and financial requirements for its Remote Work Residence Visa scheme. Under the announced criteria, applicants must earn a minimum monthly income of USD 3,500 or its foreign currency equivalent.

To be eligible, foreign nationals must submit proof of employment or contracting arrangements with an organisation situated outside the UAE. The application process also requires the submission of official bank statements covering the six months prior to applying, which must verify sustained earnings or regular deposits meeting the USD 3,500 monthly threshold.

The visa is valid for one year and operates under Abu Dhabi's non-working residential category. This classification allows remote employees, digital professionals, and freelancers to reside legally in Abu Dhabi while drawing earnings from abroad, but strictly prohibits them from taking up employment with onshore UAE entities.
