Legal guidance issued under UAE labour regulations outlines mandatory statutory requirements for companies employing 50 or more staff under Article 14 of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022, according to Gulf News.

Qualifying establishments must formalize internal workplace regulations detailing disciplinary penalties, daily working hours, weekly rest days, and health and fire precautions. In addition, companies are required to establish written, transparent criteria and procedures governing staff promotions and rewards.

Under Article 13 of the resolution, employers may assign staff alternative tasks differing from their contracts only in exceptional circumstances, such as preventing accidents or rectifying damages. The regulation strictly limits any such alternative assignment to a maximum period of 90 days per calendar year.
