The UAE Ministry of Finance and the Federal Tax Authority have established compliance timelines for the implementation of a nationwide structured electronic invoicing mandate, according to DDD Invoices.

Under the phased schedule, commercial entities generating at least AED 50 million in annual revenue must contract an Accredited Service Provider by October 30, 2026, prior to mandatory electronic invoicing taking effect on January 1, 2027. Businesses with annual revenues below AED 50 million are scheduled to go live on July 1, 2027, followed by public sector bodies on October 1, 2027.

Electronic invoices must adhere to the PINT AE data format and will transmit directly to tax authorities through the Peppol decentralized 5-corner network. DDD Invoices reports that the mandate applies to all individuals and corporate entities conducting business in the UAE, regardless of their VAT registration status.
