The United Arab Emirates has launched its third National Risk Assessment to bolster enforcement against money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing, according to Khaleej Times. The announcement was made on the sidelines of the 15th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice held in Abu Dhabi.

The assessment covers 84 federal and private entities across more than 20 sectors. It examines 21 categories of predicate offenses that generate illicit proceeds, including fraud, bribery, forgery, and tax evasion.

Authorities indicated that advanced artificial intelligence technologies are being deployed during the process to evaluate financial threats and detect systemic patterns of crime. The resulting findings will directly guide the UAE's national compliance strategy for 2024–2027 to ensure evidence-based regulatory enforcement.
