The UAE is developing an artificial intelligence platform designed to rapidly detect international trade barriers and direct domestic exporters toward alternative destinations, Foreign Trade Undersecretary Fahad Al-Gergawi announced.

The tool is programmed to analyze global trade tariffs and propose substitute markets and commercial partners within minutes. According to Al-Gergawi, proactive technical tools are increasingly necessary in response to rising global tariff disputes and protectionist trade policies.

The initiative aims to protect domestic businesses following a reported rise in UAE non-oil foreign trade to 3.8 trillion dirhams ($1.03 trillion) in 2025. The platform will complement the country's bilateral Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements, which currently allow 93 to 95 percent of partner goods to move duty-free.
