The United Arab Emirates has condemned in the strongest terms the attack targeting the liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker Al Mayeda, owned by Qatar Gas Transport Company, while transiting the Arabian Gulf, Gulf Today reported citing the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

In a formal statement, MoFA affirmed that the incident represents a dangerous escalation aimed at destabilising critical waterways. The ministry cautioned that targeting energy transport carries serious environmental repercussions and poses a grave threat to maritime safety and the security of global energy supplies.

The UAE reiterated its solidarity with the State of Qatar and stressed the urgent need to adhere to international law. MoFA emphasized the necessity of ensuring the safety and security of commercial ships, energy tankers, and their maritime crews, while preventing any disruption to navigational channels and commercial flows.
