On September 25, 2026, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Director of the Sharjah Space and Astronomy Hub at the University of Sharjah, received an official delegation from China's Innovation Academy for Microsatellites, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The visiting institution, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, specializes in designing small satellites, advanced aerospace components, and providing commercial technical solutions. The meeting was arranged to assess technical cooperation on current satellite projects and pinpoint opportunities for mutual research and technology transfer.

During the visit, the Chinese delegation toured the hub's satellite laboratory facilities and received briefings on upcoming commercial and scientific satellite missions. Both sides confirmed intentions to develop structured frameworks for technological partnerships and joint initiatives in space technology.
