The Organisational Committee of Ports and Border Points in Sharjah held its ninth meeting of 2026 on 4 October at the Khatmat Malaha border crossing, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The session was chaired by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs at the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, and attended by committee members alongside operational security officials.

Discussions focused on evaluating inspection procedures and strengthening cross-agency integration across border checkpoints. The committee addressed measures to expedite commercial freight transit and reduce clearance times while maintaining customs oversight and security standards.

The committee also stressed the implementation of continuous system enhancements to manage rising volumes of commercial and passenger traffic across Sharjah's border points.
