Sharjah and China Discuss Expanding Economic and Cultural Ties

Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah's Department of Government Relations (DGR), convened bilateral discussions with Ou Boqian, Consul General of China in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, according to Sharjah24.

The meeting explored cooperative commercial projects across advanced manufacturing, data centers, artificial intelligence, and healthcare. Both parties also discussed establishing a dedicated Chinese cultural institute in Sharjah to support growing commercial exchange.

Official data cited during the discussions indicated that 851 Chinese enterprises were registered and active in Sharjah as of June 2026. Bilateral trade between Sharjah and Chinese markets reached AED 6.3 billion in 2025, driven by knowledge-based industrial partnerships.
