Iranian Oil Shipments to China and UAE Halt Amid Blockade and Tensions

Shipments of Iranian crude and oil products to major buyers including China and the UAE have ground to a halt following naval blockades and terminal inactivity, according to tracking data from Kpler and TankerTrackers. China previously purchased an average of 1.5 million barrels per day of Iranian crude, while around 500,000 barrels per day of refined products and LPG previously flowed to the UAE, China, and Asian markets. Concurrently, an Iranian lawmaker warned that any renewed US military strikes would open new regional fronts.

Gulf Producers Restore Crude Exports as Iranian Shipments Stagnate, Kpler Data Shows

Tanker-tracking data from Kpler indicates that fresh Iranian crude loadings ground to a halt in September amid blockade pressures. In contrast, oil shipments from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other regional producers rebounded sharply, supported by alternative pipelines, ship-to-ship transfers, and naval escorts. Regional crude exports averaged 16.5 million barrels per day in September before surging to 19.5 million barrels per day in the final week.
