Chinese automotive brand OMODA & JAECOO, an export division of Chery Group, showcased its new 5-kWh hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) powertrain technology during the OMODA X Night event at its International User Summit in Wuhu, China, according to Khaleej Times. The automaker confirmed the system will make its global production debut on the OMODA 7 model before rolling out to overseas markets, including the UAE.

According to OMODA & JAECOO International Chief Executive Officer Shawn Xu, the 5-kWh hybrid architecture incorporates a larger battery pack enabling a Super Quiet Mode for electric-vehicle-style noise reduction during starts, acceleration, and cruising. The platform also features 2.2 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external power delivery, alongside dedicated operating modes for vehicle resting, security monitoring, and scheduled tasks.

The company announced that cumulative global deliveries have surpassed 1.4 million vehicles within three and a half years of operation. Electrified vehicles—including HEVs, plug-in hybrids, and battery-electric models—now represent 81 percent of total sales volume, the carmaker stated.

OMODA & JAECOO currently operates across 79 countries with more than 1,700 showrooms, forecasting full-year 2026 sales to exceed 800,000 units, representing an approximate 110 percent year-on-year increase. The brand plans to expand into 99 markets by 2027 while advancing localized rollouts of intelligent technologies, including autonomous valet parking and smart cabin systems, across the Middle East.
