Bilateral trade between Oman and China reached RO 9.6 billion in 2025, according to the Times of Oman. The figures consolidate China's standing as the Sultanate's primary trading partner and its largest purchaser of crude oil.

On October 31, 2026, Omani trade authorities and business executives outlined strategies to draw increased Chinese investment across manufacturing, logistics, and renewable energy sectors. Officials also underscored the strategic necessity of advancing free trade agreement discussions between China and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Key proposals under discussion include creating an integrated industrial complex dedicated to renewable energy component supply chains within Oman. Additional initiatives aim to establish cross-border smart warehousing networks to strengthen logistics links between the Gulf and China.
