Ningxia Foreign Trade Rises 23.9 Percent Amid Expanding Arab World Partnerships

Ningxia reported foreign trade of 17.72 billion yuan in the first eight months of 2026, a 23.9 percent increase year-on-year. Regional officials emphasized partnerships with Arab and Gulf markets in digital economy, energy, and technology transfer.

The Ningxia Hui autonomous region recorded a foreign trade volume of 17.72 billion yuan ($2.64 billion) during the first eight months of 2026, representing a 23.9 percent year-on-year increase under the Belt and Road Initiative, according to China Daily.

Officials highlighted Ningxia's role as host of the China-Arab States Expo in fostering trade, digital economy, and energy partnerships with Arab and Gulf markets.

Chen Fang, deputy director-general of the region's department of science and technology, stated that a regional technology transfer center was established to enhance innovation collaboration with Arab states. Ningxia has developed six demonstration sites across Arab nations, including Oman and Jordan, focused on technology transfer and agricultural-industrial cooperation.
