Alibaba Expands UAE Data Centres as Abu Dhabi Finance Week Widens Global Agenda

Alibaba announced plans at the Apsara Conference to expand its data centre facilities in the UAE over the next 12 months to meet enterprise AI and cloud demand. Concurrently, Abu Dhabi Global Market unveiled the agenda for Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2026, which will host 75 events including dedicated bilateral forums with China. More than 300 financial leaders representing over USD 61 trillion in assets are confirmed to attend the Abu Dhabi gathering in December 2026.

Dubai Serves as Commercial Launchpad for Chinese Business Expansion Across Global Markets

Senior executives from major Chinese enterprises highlighted Dubai as a strategic hub for trade and investment expansion across the Gulf and globally. The statements were issued ahead of the Dubai Business Forum – China, scheduled for 14 October in Shenzhen by Dubai Chambers. Companies including BYD, Tencent Cloud, Baidu, Huawei Cloud, and China Merchants Capital emphasized deepening bilateral corridors aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

Abu Dhabi Customs and Khalifa University Enterprises Partner on AI and Customs Innovation

Abu Dhabi Customs and Khalifa University Enterprises Company have signed an MoU to integrate AI and data analytics into customs clearance processes. The collaboration aims to conduct feasibility assessments for an innovation lab and port digital twin models. The initiative supports local supply chain competitiveness and aligns with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.

Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2026 expands programme to 75 events with China forum

Abu Dhabi Global Market announced that Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2026 will expand to 75 events across eight stages from 7 to 10 December 2026. The programme introduces dedicated bilateral forums focused on China, South Korea, the United States, and the European Union to bolster cross-border investment. Over 300 global financial leaders representing more than USD 61 trillion in assets are confirmed to attend.
