Abu Dhabi Customs and Khalifa University Enterprises signed a Memorandum of Understanding on September 24, 2026, at the Al Ain Future Business Forum, according to the Emirates News Agency. The partnership was signed by Acting Director-General Obaid Musallem AlAmeri and CEO Amal Nasser Al Jabri.

The agreement focuses on integrating artificial intelligence and data analytics into customs clearance. As part of the collaboration, the entities will share trade and operational data to pinpoint industrial, economic, and investment opportunities in line with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.

The partnership also entails conducting feasibility assessments for a Customs Innovation and Foresight Lab, as well as digital twin models for ports. According to the announcement, the initiative is designed to increase operational processing speeds, support risk management, and enhance the competitiveness of local supply chains.
