UAE Business Activity Expands in September as Selling Prices Surge to 15-Year High

The S&P Global UAE Purchasing Managers' Index held steady at 55.3 in September, matching August's 20-month high and confirming sustained non-oil expansion. Firm customer demand enabled companies to pass on higher raw material and freight costs, pushing selling prices up at the fastest rate in over 15 years. Dubai's non-oil PMI rose to 54.5, posting its strongest reading in seven months amid accelerating export demand.

UAE Unveils Asteroid Belt Probe as Space Sector Tops Dh44 Billion

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed attended the unveiling of the UAE-developed probe for the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt, which achieved flight readiness in under two years. The probe will journey five billion kilometres aboard the MBR Explorer to study seven asteroids, ending with an autonomous landing on 269 Justitia. Sheikh Hamdan noted that the UAE space sector is now valued at over Dh44 billion, with targets to double economic returns by 2031.

China Expands Economic and Energy Cooperation With UAE and Saudi Arabia

Chinese Premier Li Qiang completed visits to Saudi Arabia and the UAE to strengthen ties across traditional energy, renewable technologies, and electric vehicles. Bilateral trade between China and the UAE reached a record 50 billion dollars in the first half of 2024. Discussions also addressed reviving negotiations for a China-GCC free trade agreement.

Dubai to Host Inaugural Global EV World 2026 Exhibition in November

Dubai will host the inaugural Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference (EV World 2026) from November 10 to 12 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Organised by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority, the event will gather over 300 companies and organisations and more than 10,000 visitors. The exhibition will feature advancements across electric and hydrogen vehicles, battery systems, charging networks, and autonomous mobility.
