The UAE has climbed five places to rank 25th among 139 economies in the 2026 Global Innovation Index published by WIPO. The country secured first place worldwide across four indicators, including start-up financing and entrepreneurial policies. It also recorded strong performances in high-tech exports, brand value, and mobile application downloads.
The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy is intensifying regulatory oversight of petroleum products trading across storage, transport, and distribution activities. Saudi Arabian Airlines announced that Captain Hamoud Ali Alkalthami died and an aircraft was damaged in attacks targeting Riyadh's airport on October 8. The airline activated emergency procedures and confirmed that scheduled flight operations normalized from 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
