The Sharjah Book Authority hosted a delegation of 13 specialists from six Chinese publishing and education firms. The discussions focused on expanding rights exchanges, boosting Chinese participation at the Sharjah International Book Fair, and regional headquarters setup in Sharjah Publishing City.
The United Arab Emirates has issued Federal Decree No. 85 of 2026 approving its accession to the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation. The framework will allow commercial cross-border mediated settlements to be directly enforced by domestic courts without starting fresh litigation. The convention will take effect six months after the deposit of the UAE's instrument of accession with the UN Secretary-General.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has launched its first dedicated health and life sciences delegation to China, covering Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing from September 21 to 30. The mission focuses on artificial intelligence, robotics, precision cancer care, and clinical drug trials. Chinese healthcare firms were also formally invited to attend the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit in October.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has commenced its first health and life sciences mission to China, covering Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing from September 21 to 30, 2026. The delegation aims to build partnerships in artificial intelligence, medical robotics, oncology, and new drug development. Representatives from UAE healthcare and research bodies are meeting Chinese authorities, universities, and biotech firms.
