Hackers Compromise 1.5 Million Files from Saudi-Chinese Stadium Construction Consortium

Cybersecurity analysis firm Hackmanac reported that a cybercrime group stole 17 terabytes of data from a partnership between China Railway Construction Corporation Saudi Branch and Sama Construction. The breached assets comprise over 1.5 million files, including sensitive contracts, engineering designs, and personal information of approximately 150,000 workers. The consortium is the primary engineering contractor for the Jeddah Central Stadium ahead of the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

Cybersecurity analysis firm Hackmanac reported on October 5 that a cybercrime group compromised 17 terabytes of data from a major Saudi-Chinese construction partnership. The breach occurred on October 3 and affected the joint venture between China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) Saudi Branch and Sama Construction.

According to the report, more than 1.5 million files were extracted during the incident. The compromised assets include sensitive commercial contracts, engineering designs, payment records, and personal files belonging to approximately 150,000 workers.

The targeted consortium operates as the primary engineering contractor responsible for building the Jeddah Central Stadium, a marquee infrastructure venue slated for the 2034 FIFA World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
