Automotive brand FREELANDER announced on October 11, 2026, that it will host the first international test drives of the FREELANDER 8 during the 2026 Chery International User Summit in Wuhu, China.

The driving program follows the brand's global launch conducted in Abu Dhabi on September 29, 2026. Dealer partners and regional stakeholders will be given access to test the vehicle on both paved and off-road courses.

According to the announcement, the FREELANDER 8 features dual-motor all-wheel drive, dual-chamber air suspension, an Intelligent All-Terrain System, and Super Intelligent Valet Parking capabilities. Engineering specifications state that the model can climb gradients of up to 70% and wade through water up to 900 mm deep.

The brand stated that the initiative highlights growing commercial links between Chinese intelligent vehicle manufacturers and consumer automotive sectors in the UAE and the wider Gulf region.
