China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC) is undertaking the construction of a green degassing station at the Far North Bab project in the United Arab Emirates, according to People's Daily Online. The project represents the northernmost section of the Bab Oilfield, which is Abu Dhabi's largest onshore oilfield, where the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is establishing core facilities for a greener oilfield.

Walid Ahmed, an Emirati citizen who joined CPECC as an administrative supervisor in 2018, spoke with People's Daily Online about his experience working for the Chinese state-owned enterprise. Ahmed stated that his initial motivation for joining CPECC was the firm's rapid expansion and operational efficiency, adding that the working environment proved to be disciplined and well-organized.

Ahmed acknowledged that he initially had preconceptions regarding Chinese enterprises, but noted that those views changed upon observing what he characterized as a meticulous and serious approach to work. He described managing differences across diverse cultural backgrounds as demanding initially, but regarded multicultural collaboration as a key operational strength.

Reflecting on his seven-year tenure, Ahmed said colleagues and company leadership attended his wedding the previous year, demonstrating strong personal and professional ties. He advised young Emiratis seeking roles at Chinese companies to remain proactive, develop their skills, and grow alongside their employers.
