The 'Future Economy' Majlis was held on 13 October 2026 as part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Forum at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The gathering, which brought together 1,000 leaders, decision-makers, and experts from the public and private sectors, examined foundational strategies required to build a resilient and competitive economy amid shifting global market conditions.

Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD Bank P.J.S.C., addressed the session, noting that international markets are experiencing rapid restructuring driven by supply chain shifts, energy transition, and advanced technologies. Al Qassim highlighted Dubai's positioning as an international hub connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe, stating that the emirate's long-term strength relies on combining physical trade flows with digital infrastructure.

Economist Nouriel Roubini spoke on international economic dynamics, reviewing evolving relations between China, the United States, and Europe, as well as the impact of restructured economic ties on global trade, investment flows, and supply chains. Roubini also addressed the role of artificial intelligence in reshaping productivity and global business models, stating that future growth depends on institutional readiness and flexible decision-making.

According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), the 'Future Economy' session took place alongside other strategic meetings, including the 'New Global Narrative' Majlis and the 'Future Cities Leadership' Majlis.
