The 28th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2026) has concluded at the Dubai World Trade Centre, drawing 3,000 exhibiting companies from 60 countries, according to Saut Al Emarat.
The event hosted 13 national pavilions, including delegations from China, Germany, Italy, Belgium, India, Turkey, the Czech Republic, and South Korea. The exhibition was supported by 60 sponsoring institutions and 23 partner organisations and associations, occupying exhibition space across Dubai World Trade Centre halls.
The gathering highlighted the UAE's non-oil foreign trade performance, which reached AED 1.937 trillion during the first half of 2026, marking a 13.1 percent year-on-year increase, while non-oil exports reached AED 452.8 billion. China retained its position as the UAE's leading non-oil trading partner at AED 180.7 billion, followed by Switzerland at AED 138.4 billion and India at AED 107.5 billion.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, said the event supports economic diversification, sustainability partnerships, and climate action. He added that the exhibition focused on artificial intelligence, decarbonisation, green mobility, green hydrogen, and smart cities in alignment with national and emirate-level 2050 net-zero and clean energy strategies.
