Chinese Flying-Car Maker Aridge Targets UAE Commercial Operations Within 18 Months

Chinese flying-car manufacturer Aridge projects that commercial operations in the UAE could be feasible within 12 to 18 months. The rollout is planned to begin on a small scale before expanding over three to five years. The initiative follows an agreement signed in September to test and deploy vehicles in Ras Al Khaimah.

Commercial flying-car operations in the United Arab Emirates could become feasible within 12 to 18 months, according to Michael Du, Chief Financial Officer of Chinese flying-car manufacturer Aridge.

Du stated that the rollout is expected to launch on a small scale initially, followed by a gradual expansion over a three- to five-year period depending on commercial adoption. Realising this timeline will depend on establishing an operational framework, regulatory sandbox, and the necessary infrastructure in coordination with local authorities.

Aridge, previously known as XPENG Aeroht, signed an agreement in September to test and deploy advanced air mobility vehicles in Ras Al Khaimah. The development follows a visit by Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, to the company's smart manufacturing facility in Guangzhou.
