Economic ties between China and the UAE continue to strengthen, with Chinese inward foreign direct investment (FDI) projects into Dubai surging from 11 in 2021 to 91 in 2025, according to reported figures. Chinese investments in the emirate have targeted automotive manufacturing, telecommunications, metals, components, and industrial equipment. Concurrently, Dubai-based companies invested approximately $9.8 billion into China between 2004 and 2025, based on fDi Intelligence data, while active Chinese member firms registered with Dubai Chambers reached 6,650 by late September.

At the wider national level, UAE-China bilateral trade reached $108 billion in 2025, with Chinese exports accounting for $72.88 billion and imports from the UAE totaling $35.12 billion. Separate figures note UAE-China non-oil trade touched $111.5 billion in 2025, representing a 24.5 percent annual expansion. China's direct investment in the UAE reached $2.6 billion during the same year.

Chinese corporate activity is scaling across consumer and logistics services. In September 2025, Meituan's international food delivery brand Keeta entered the Dubai market, introducing algorithmic delivery tracking. In logistics, J&T Express invested in an automated warehouse and sorting facility at Dubai Industrial City, aligning with the emirate's Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) objective to rank among the world's top five logistics hubs.

Technological collaboration has also expanded into smart mobility and education. In April 2026, Baidu partnered with the Dubai Taxi Company to deploy Apollo Go commercial driverless ride-hailing services, following testing agreements with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority and the introduction of local autonomous vehicle regulations. Meanwhile, Dubai Insurance rolled out tailored coverage for the autonomous fleet, and Huawei integrated its ICT Academy courses into degree programs at Zayed University.
