Chinese President Xi Jinping and Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said held a summit in Beijing on November 2, 2026, concluding 14 bilateral cooperation agreements. The meeting marked the first state visit by an Omani monarch to China across the 48-year history of diplomatic relations between the two nations, teleSUR English reported.

The signed accords align China's Belt and Road Initiative with Oman Vision 2040. They target key sectors including supply chain development, green energy, and high technology.

To facilitate trade and commerce financing, the People's Bank of China and the Central Bank of Oman entered into a formal local currency swap pact. Both leaders also committed to expanding industrial investment and artificial intelligence applications beyond conventional oil trade.
