AIIB Convenes 11th Annual Meeting in Doha on Sustainable Infrastructure Financing

The Beijing-headquartered Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank opened its 11th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in Doha, Qatar. The two-day event convened government officials and business leaders from 111 member economies to address private capital mobilization and cross-border financing. Discussions centered on sustainable connectivity, green energy, and digital infrastructure bridging Gulf and Asian markets.

The Beijing-headquartered Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) commenced its 11th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in Doha, Qatar, under the theme 'Tomorrow's Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation'. The two-day gathering marks AIIB's transition into its second decade, convening government delegations, finance ministers, and business leaders from 111 member economies.

In her opening address, AIIB President Zou Jiayi emphasized expanding cross-border infrastructure financing and mobilizing private capital through flexible local-currency instruments. Qatari Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari chaired the Board of Governors, underscoring joint commitments between Gulf and Asian markets.

The multilateral development institution, capitalized at USD 100 billion and holding AAA ratings from major international credit rating agencies, stated its intention to advance sustainable connectivity, green energy, and technology-enabled infrastructure across the region.
