AIIB Convenes 11th Annual Meeting in Doha to Expand Cross-Border Financing

The Beijing-headquartered Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank commenced its 11th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in Doha, Qatar. The two-day gathering convenes delegations from 111 member economies under the theme 'Tomorrow's Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation'. Discussions focus on mobilizing private capital, local-currency financing, and green and digital infrastructure cooperation between Asia and the Gulf.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), headquartered in Beijing, has opened its 11th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in Doha, Qatar. Held under the theme "Tomorrow's Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation," the two-day gathering marks the bank's transition into its second decade of operations.

The event convenes government delegations, finance ministers, and business leaders representing 111 member economies. Qatari Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari served as chair of the Board of Governors, highlighting shared commitments between Gulf and Asian markets.

In her opening address, AIIB President Zou Jiayi highlighted priorities including the expansion of cross-border infrastructure financing and the mobilization of private capital through flexible local-currency instruments.

Capitalized at $100 billion, the multilateral institution focuses on financing sustainable connectivity, green energy, and digital infrastructure across the region.
