The four-day Adipec exhibition, running from November 2 to 5 in Abu Dhabi, will host a record 2,260 exhibiting companies, including 54 national and international energy firms, alongside more than 40 government ministers, according to The National. Organisers expect more than 239,000 attendees from over 170 countries. High demand has fully booked all 16 halls at Adnec Centre Abu Dhabi, requiring the construction of temporary structures and the relocation of the opening ceremony.
Major participating energy corporations include BP, Shell, TotalEnergies, Eni, ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Occidental Petroleum, alongside technology and industrial providers such as Siemens, IBM, and Microsoft. Asia will be represented by its largest delegation to date, comprising 353 companies and six national pavilions, reflecting expanding Asian demand and strategic supply security ties.
The conference agenda places energy security, AI adoption, and infrastructure financing at the forefront. A survey cited by organisers indicated that 81 per cent of participating executives expect electricity demand driven by AI technology to exceed existing forecasts. The gathering also follows an announcement by Adnoc offering Dh60 billion in manufacturing opportunities to UAE-based suppliers to bolster domestic supply chains.
The programme features an opening address by Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Adnoc managing director and group chief executive, as well as a ministerial session led by UAE Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei with counterparts from Germany, Turkey, and Egypt. Additional executive speakers include leaders from BP, Siemens, Baker Hughes, and Inpex. Last year's Adipec yielded 49,131 commercial agreements valued at $53 billion, according to event organisers.
