The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has organised the '6G Summit in the AI Era' in Abu Dhabi, marking the first summit of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa.

The two-day summit brings together representatives from regulatory authorities, the technology industry, and international academic and research institutions. According to TDRA, the event provides a regional platform to discuss technical and regulatory priorities for next-generation telecommunications.

Organisers stated that the summit takes place amid accelerating global preparations for 6G technology, building upon the UAE's established 5G and 5G-Advanced network foundation. The gathering also addresses the expanding role of artificial intelligence in network design and operation, alongside international efforts to define future technical standards and specifications.
