The United Arab Emirates has published qualifying criteria for foreign nationals seeking a 10-year Golden Visa under exceptional talent categories, according to details released on the official portal of the UAE Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Authority (ICP) and reported by YEN.com.gh. The Golden Visa grants successful applicants and their immediate families the right to live, work, and study in the country for a decade without requiring an Emirati national sponsor.
Under the culture and arts track, candidates are evaluated across three distinct tiers. The Creative Category requires international or global recognition from prestigious organisations, while the Distinguished Category applies to recipients of local and regional awards or nominations. The Distinguished Professional Category requires at least five years of creative experience, documented publications, major collaborations, media coverage, or active membership in international arts bodies.
In scientific and technological disciplines, researchers and scientists must secure a formal recommendation from the Emirates Scientists Council. Specialists in industry and Fourth Industrial Revolution sectors require an endorsement from the Ministry of Industry. Healthcare and education professionals, as well as religious scholars, require nominations or recommendations from their respective governing ministries.
For the specialised professionals sub-category, applicants must hold at least a bachelor's degree, maintain a valid work permit and comprehensive health insurance, and earn a minimum monthly salary of AED 30,000. In sports, qualifying criteria focus on outstanding athletic achievements, leadership roles in international federations, or recognised credentials as a sports medicine specialist.
