The United Arab Emirates has published qualifying criteria for foreign nationals seeking a 10-year Golden Visa under exceptional talent categories, according to details released on the official portal of the UAE Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Authority (ICP), YEN.com.gh reported.
The Golden Visa allows qualifying candidates and their immediate families to live, work, and study in the UAE for ten years without requiring a national sponsor. Eligibility spans creative disciplines, scientific research, sporting achievements, and specialised professional positions.
Under the culture and arts pathway, applicants are assessed across three tiers: the Creative Category for individuals who have received international or global recognition from prestigious organisations; the Distinguished Category for recipients of local and regional awards, nominations, or certificates; and the Distinguished Professional Category for applicants with at least five years of creative experience, documented publications, major collaborations, media coverage, or active membership in international arts bodies.
In scientific and technical streams, researchers and scientists must secure a recommendation from the Emirates Scientists Council, while industry and Fourth Industrial Revolution specialists require endorsement from the Ministry of Industry. In addition, religious scholars must receive nominations through the Ministry of Culture and Youth, and healthcare and education professionals require recommendations from their respective ministries.
A specialised professionals sub-category requires applicants to hold at least a bachelor's degree, a valid work permit, comprehensive health insurance, and a minimum monthly salary of AED 30,000. In sports, qualifying criteria centre on outstanding athletic achievements, leadership positions within international sports federations, or recognised expertise as a sports medicine specialist.
