FREELANDER Selects UAE for Debut International Market in Phased Expansion

Automotive brand FREELANDER, jointly developed by Jaguar Land Rover and Chery, unveiled its international roadmap designating the UAE as its debut market. The announcement took place at an event in Abu Dhabi with local dealership appointments for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the Northern Emirates. The cooperation highlights Sino-British-UAE automotive partnerships incorporating Chinese intelligent vehicle technologies.

FREELANDER, an automotive brand jointly developed by Jaguar Land Rover and China's Chery, announced its international expansion roadmap on October 1, 2026. The brand designated the UAE as its debut international market during a launch event held at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi.

To manage its local sales and commercial operations, FREELANDER appointed Al Tayer Motors to cover Dubai and the Northern Emirates, while Premier Motors was named the official partner for Abu Dhabi.

The initiative features the FREELANDER 8 model, which pairs British vehicle design with Chery's intelligent vehicle technologies and supply chain.

Officials from the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office attended the event to mark the automotive collaboration between China, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
