U.S. energy companies ExxonMobil and Chevron have cancelled travel plans for senior executives scheduled to attend the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) next week, citing security concerns, according to two sources familiar with the matter reported by Reuters.

ExxonMobil Chief Executive Darren Woods had been scheduled to participate in the Abu Dhabi event, while Chevron was slated to be represented by its upstream president, Clay Neff, the sources said.

ExxonMobil and Chevron declined to comment on the cancellations. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), the UAE state energy company hosting the event, referred inquiries to event organizer dmg events, which did not immediately comment.

Other senior international energy leaders remained listed on the conference's official online schedule as of Thursday, according to Reuters.
