Chinese automotive giant BYD is preparing to host the global unveiling of its flagship limousine, the Yangwang Altior, at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi in early November, Arabian Business reported. Previously developed under the internal codename Project HU, the model was officially named in late October and represents Yangwang's first ultra-luxury executive flagship sedan, positioned at the top of the brand's vehicle lineup.
The vehicle is expected to measure approximately 5.5 metres in length. Images released ahead of the global launch reveal an imposing front grille, an extended wheelbase, rear-hinged coach doors associated with traditional chauffeur-driven cars, and a roof-mounted lidar sensor indicating advanced driver-assistance integration.
BYD has not yet officially disclosed technical specifications, powertrain configurations, performance figures, or UAE market pricing for the Altior. Reports from China have cited an estimated domestic price exceeding RMB2 million (approximately $300,000), though this figure remains unconfirmed.
Yangwang occupies the highest tier of BYD's brand architecture alongside brands such as Denza, with an existing portfolio that includes the U7 performance sedan, the U8 luxury off-road SUV, and the U9 electric supercar. The brand already operates in the UAE market, where the U8 Arabian Edition has been offered at AED 659,900 via distributor Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility.
