Chinese low-altitude mobility developer ARIDGE has handed over its first Land Aircraft Carrier (X3-F) air module destined for the United Arab Emirates' Advanced Air Mobility regulatory sandbox in Ras Al Khaimah.
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and member of the UAE Supreme Council, unveiled the aircraft alongside ARIDGE founder Zhao Deli during a delegation visit to the manufacturer's mass-production facility in Guangzhou, China. The event marked an official handover of the test aircraft under a partnership established with the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA).
The Land Aircraft Carrier system combines a six-wheeled ground vehicle that transports and recharges the aircraft with a detachable two-seat electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) flying unit. The aircraft is designated to undergo operational and safety evaluations within the emirate's pilot zone.
XPeng Chief Executive Officer He Xiaopeng stated that the vehicle will soon begin test flights within the UAE regulatory zone. Company executives previously noted that initial trials will focus on verification, emergency rescue, and tourism use cases as commercial air mobility frameworks develop across the UAE.
